About the Role
This is a remote role. We will consider applicants based in APAC.
Kraken’s Legal Department has an exciting opportunity for a labor and employment attorney.
This position would provide advice and counsel to human resource professionals and other
business partners in APAC region and around the globe. This position would also provide legal
labor and employment advice related to the company’s strategic initiatives.
Your Day-to-DayServe as a business partner, not just an attorney.Provides in-house legal counsel on labor and employment related matters, which may include, but are not limited to: human resources issues, employment disputes, interaction with labor and employment regulatory bodies, working conditions, work rules and employment contracts, social insurance, labor insurance, leave policies, and generally assist the Kraken Experience team.Act as an advisor to internal stakeholders in understanding and interpreting labor laws and regulations.Exercise sound judgement with an eye towards assessing the practical implications of legal risks.Ability to proactively propose innovative business solutions.Manage risk and ensure business and compliance needs are accurately reflected in all agreements.Respond promptly to a wide range of legal work and coordinate closely with legal department colleagues to ensure delivery of smart, practical and consistent advice on a variety of matters
RequirementsQualified to practice in a Commonwealth, U.S. or Asian jurisdictionMinimum 2-4 years’ current experience in labor and employment law.Experience structuring, drafting, and negotiating a wide variety of HR related agreements.Be comfortable handling privacy and data protection topics in the employment context.Convey complex legal principles succinctly and effectively, explaining risks and developing business solutions. Collaborative style with the ability to work independently.Self-starter with a sense of urgency to get things done.Proven ability to handle competing priorities in a dynamic, evolving and fluid environment.Sound and practical business judgment.Strong IT skills (we are a remote first company).Interest in, or basic knowledge of blockchain technology and cryptocurrency a plus.Interest in, or basic knowledge of intellectual property rights of individuals a plus.
