We are hiring an experienced Director of Solution Engineering, primarily responsible for enabling the Solution Engineering team to maximize their potential in driving top line revenue in partnership with Sales, Customer Success and Product teams across Rollbar. This position will be responsible for coaching the SEs to best navigate their day-to-day responsibilities and ongoing trajectory within their role, requiring both a thorough tactical and strategic understanding of the role and responsibilities of the SE organization and the customers and or regions they support.
You will:Lead, mentor, recruit and develop a diverse and effective Solution Engineering teaRefine and scale core Solution/Sales engineering processes such as discovery, technical qualification, custom demos, workshops, and proof-of-conceptsCoach SEs on developing customer-facing collateral e.g. presentations, demos, proposals, and solution designs.Coach SEs on technical selling skills and provide constructive feedbackDevelop an internal knowledge base to enable team members to access key information such as use cases, solution designs, POCs, assets, training, etcCollaborate with the CS and Sales team to create account plans and design, create and present business solutions to improve customer revenue growthCollaborate with a variety of internal functional areas to ensure solutions are implemented and supported in line with customer expectationsProvide input on product development or enhancements to existing products to product management functionParticipate in regional industry events/organizations and represent the company as a thought leader
You have:At least 5 to 7 years of leadership experience in a fast-paced, SaaS software product company; in SaaS customer success, sales, or solutions engineering rolesPassionate about delivering world-class customer experience Ability to tie team goals to the strategic objectives of the product and companyAct as a role model to others: sets an example of integrity, ethical behavior and professionalismExcellent organizational skills -ability to prioritize, manage, multi-task and execute projects cross-functionallySuperior communications skills (presentation, written, and verbal) and ability to interact effectively with all levels of professional staff. Ability to explain complex concepts simplyExcellent problem-solving skills and ability to navigate challenging situations in a professional mannerGood aptitude to work with customers or previous experience in a customer facing role both pre-and post-sales
