About the Role
As Head of Business Development you will oversee business development initiatives globally for Kraken. You will have responsibility for driving user growth and new revenue through partnerships and joint ventures, finding mutually beneficial solutions to expand the Kraken footprint. You bring a deep understanding of the cryptocurrency ecosystem and the financial services industry, as well as an ability to work collaboratively to close deals. You’ll leverage your skill set to broaden the scope of impact for the Kraken product and enhance the experience for Kraken users.
ResponsibilitiesRun Kraken’s Business Development DepartmentFormulate business development strategies for where and how Kraken should grow the business through partnerships and dealsSource new opportunities and prospective partners through networking and resourcefulnessEvaluate potential partnership opportunities using bottom-up and top-down approaches; utilize critical thinking and creativity to generate unique solutionsManage and prioritize the business development pipeline, ensuring clear focus on the highest impact opportunities, and continued progress and accountabilityOversee management of business development personnel, providing guidance and leadershipWork closely with the Chief Commercial Officer and leadership team to evaluate opportunities, negotiate deals and create new value for the companyMaintain a strong pulse on industry trends through external relationships to better inform our corporate strategy
Requirements8+ years in a management/leadership position in business development at a financial services company, a technology company; entrepreneurial experience a plusLeadership experience and proven track record of developing, negotiating and successfully closing business development opportunitiesStrong strategic thinking and decision-making skills; comfortable working on multi-dimensional, complex issuesCommercial mindset and ability to connect dots in order to create the best opportunities for the companyDeep knowledge and understanding of Bitcoin, the cryptocurrency industry, trading, and financial markets ecosystemsAbility to drive growth and produce results autonomously with minimal oversightAbility to establish strong working relationships both internally and externally, across all levels of managementHighly effective communicator and the ability to express opinions without egoStrong project management skills; ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines simultaneouslyExcellent quantitative and analytical skillsExperience in both traditional and startup environments are a plusActive Kraken client and / or familiar with both the Kraken and competitors’ product suite
