We are looking for our first Developer Advocate to help define what developer evangelism looks like at Rollbar. You will be responsible for building, engaging and educating our developer community. As a Developer Advocate, you will build our community through meetups, talks at conferences, and social media engagement. You will also help adoption by developing content — video tutorials, writing articles and blog posts, speaking on webinars and more.
This is an ideal role for someone who is a passionate coder, writer, and communicator that can move effortlessly between technical details and product strategy.
You will:Develop creative and diverse ideas to promote engagement and adoption of Rollbar among developersChampion Rollbar by presenting at conferences, events, meetups and webinarsMaintain an active presence in online and social channels to establish thought leadership that’s relevant to developers and technical influencersMonitor and contribute to a variety of platforms, blogs, and forums, such as StackOverflow, GitHub, and TwitterPublish content including technical tutorials, guides, blog posts, videos, and more to help existing and prospective users get the most out of RollbarBecome a trusted and recognized thought leader for customers, partners, and prospectsInfluence the product roadmap and market positioning with insights about our product and messaging gathered from the developer community
You have:5+ years of combined work experience software engineering, sales engineering, and/or developer advocacy experienceEnjoy engaging with developers (at conferences, online, etc.)Passionate about software development and technology and are genuinely excited any chance you get to “talk shop”Excellent written and oral communication skills; experience speaking to both small and large audiences at tech conferences, hackathons, meetupsAbility to deliver presentations, demos, write compelling technical blog posts, and communicate technical content to developersAbility to communicate sophisticated information so that it is easily understood by non-technical users, as neededPassionate and energetic personality, self-starter who takes initiative and can work independently and lead projects in a fast-paced environmentDigital native, comfortable with online networking and communicating on a variety of platformsDemonstrable presence with engaged followers in social and technical channels such as StackOverflow, GitHub, Twitter, Twitch, etcWillingness to travel to speak and attend meet-ups, conferences, and related industry events post-pandemicBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field and equivalent practical experience
