Senior Program Manager

Remote - US / Canada Engineering

We want to help everyone build better software, which is why we’re creating a company where anyone, regardless of what they look like or where they come from, can grow and succeed. We believe that when people with different perspectives, life experiences, and identities join us and thrive, we can build better products for developers all around the world. As we grow, we want our workforce to represent the global community that we serve.

This role will focus across Engineering, Product and Design, to ensure that projects, programs and partnerships are infused with a diversity and inclusion lens to enable a richer and more satisfying experience in the talent lifecycle and to ensure that our EPD team is a place where diversity, inclusion and belonging are core to the culture. The Senior Program Manager reports to the Chief of Staff of their aligned business unit, and their “dotted line” teammates will be their peers aligned to other business units. In working closely with their Chief of Staff, the Senior Program Manager will have direct line of sight into the business’ talent needs, leadership team objectives, and alignment with the rhythm of business. In meeting regularly with their peers, collaborate on cross-company initiatives, share best practices, and better develop metrics and KPIs.

Our products, platform and ecosystem must be designed for the vibrant global developer community that we serve. This includes ensuring that they are inclusive and accessible in language, naming, and reach. For example, are we designing for regions where mobile phones are much more prevalent than computers? Are we using language that makes people feel safe on our platform? We also believe in leveraging our platform to contribute to accelerating human progress in ways GitHub is uniquely positioned to do, such as encouraging people to participate in civic engagement and voting.
