Senior Quality Engineer

San Francisco, CA (HQ) Engineering

GitHub is looking for a Senior Quality Engineer to help create a comprehensive quality engineering test strategy with an automated approach for new features, as well as to maintain existing regression test suites. 

Responsibilities:

  • Build automation frameworks that can easily be adopted by the Development and Quality Engineering teams. 
  • Maintain the Quality Engineering team’s issue backlog and work with Development and Product teams to prioritize issues, including fixes within subsequent releases.

 Requirements

  • Requires a master’s or foreign equivalent degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field and 3 years of experience in the position offered or 3 years of experience deploying products in a standard environment and configuring them across all operators and platforms. 
  • Also requires 3 years of experience: configuring and tuning multi-tiered internet properties consisting of Java Apps using Tomcat, Linux, and load balanced using F5.
  • Utilizing at least one of the following storage technologies: NetApp, Fibre Channel (FC), Fiber Channel over Ethernet (FcoE), Internet Small Computer System Interface (iSCSI), Common Internet File System (CIFS), InfiniBand, Network File System (NFS) or Redundant array of independent disks (RAID).
  • Conducting system configuration management.
  • Utilizing NoSQL databases.
  • Developing in VMware VCenter, Xen and Kernel-based Virtual Machine (KVM) virtualization environments.
  • Working with Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and networking.
