Software Engineering Intern - GitHub Actions

The GitHub Actions team is responsible for the full stack of features and technologies powering the Actions experience on GitHub. GitHub Actions is one of the newest innovations in GitHub. We are building the future of code automation enabling our customers to innovate and collaborate on both their continuous integration / deployment scenarios as well as software development workflows. In this role, you will be having the opportunity to work as a full stack engineer delivering features and improvements to the stack powering GitHub Actions.

Responsibilities:

  • Working with your engineering manager to put a plan for the project you picked for your time at GitHub
  • Working with PMs and other Engineers to prioritize and execute on the plan
  • Shipping quality features that our customers will love
  • Measuring and monitoring the health of your changes in production
  • Listening to customers feedback and improving your features based on what you learned

What you (the intern) will learn:

  • What does the full cycle of building production level software looks like.
  • How to build software with a great team.
  • How to develop for a large site like GitHub.

Requirements & Details for GitHub Summer Interns:

  • You will be based at our headquarters in San Francisco, CA. Our internships are paid and we provide furnished housing in San Francisco.
  • Your internship will be 10 weeks from June 8th, 2020 to August 14th, 2020. We will accommodate quarter system intern starts. 
  • You must be a student enrolled in a university, community college, associate, or graduate school program to be eligible
  • You must be returning to school the Fall after your internship (Fall 2020)
