Staff Software Engineer - CI/CD

The Engineering Velocity team is in search of a Staff Software Engineer to help us change the way digital products are designed.

About the team:

The Engineering Velocity team in our Platform organization is responsible for ensuring our product engineering teams are empowered to deliver value to our customers as quickly and as safely as possible, following best practices in the process. We are a team of experienced engineers who work towards our mission by building and offering automated deployment pipelines and tooling which manage shipping code to all of our environments and deployment targets.

Our ideal candidate has extensive experience shipping customer-focused solutions in the CI/CD and release engineering space, in a kubernetes cloud-native environment.

What you will do:

  • Work with other teams in the Platform engineering organization to collaboratively identify and build solutions that support automated release engineering and provisioning for our microservices architecture
  • Lead the technical architecture of the Engineering Velocity team including the solutions we integrate or build
  • Develop tools that enable our engineering teams to release code faster, safer, and with higher quality than ever before
  • Ship incremental improvements that add value to our customers on a regular basis, building towards a larger vision
  • Work with managers, engineers, and other stakeholders across the engineering organization to understand their most critical needs and translate those into technical solutions that quickly deliver what’s most needed
  • Mentor engineers on your team and in the Platform organization

What you will bring: 

  • Strong proficiency in Go
  • Experience delivering effective and efficient release and deployment solutions supporting multiple engineering teams
  • Multiple years of experience mentoring and leading experienced engineers
  • A track record of building consensus and influencing technical decisions across the organization
  • Multiple years of experience debugging complex issues at every level of the stack
  • A passion for operational excellence and a drive towards creating performant and reliable solutions
  • Solid understanding of event based architectures
